Step into the ethereal world of 19th-century "White Ballets," where love, heartbreak, and the supernatural take center stage. The Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami (CCBM) presents a stunning program that highlights the timeless beauty and emotional depth of these Romantic-era masterpieces. The evening begins with Les Sylphides, a moonlit reverie choreographed by Mikhail Fokine to Frédéric Chopin’s music, where a young man is drawn into the delicate, otherworldly dance of ethereal sylphs. Next, audiences will be moved by Act II of Giselle, the haunting story of a peasant girl who, even in death, saves her unfaithful lover from the vengeance of the Wilis, spirits of betrayed women.
The program continues with the iconic Act II pas de deux from Swan Lake, choreographed by Marius Petipa to Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s unforgettable score. This poignant duet between Prince Siegfried and Odette, a princess cursed to live as a swan, captures the essence…
